On Friday, my 80 year old mother was gracious enough to bring my car in for me to this shop. I needed an alignment and hoped they would check over the car. They were upfront with her, once she got there, that the alignment cost more than the dealership, $350. They also found a problem with the air conditioning. It was not time for an oil change they told me and yet my mother left after 4 hours with a $1000 bill. Truthfully, about 5 dollars under $1000. Today it's Tuesday and one of the tires that was aligned has a massive hole in it. They seemed to not be concerned about solving any of these issues for me. I cannot recommend them unless donating cash to mechanics is on your charity priority list.

Excellent folks over at J&F. Their pricing might seem high for some, but you certainly get what you pay for. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable, prompt, and kept me informed throughout the process. On top of it all, they just seem like a nice group of people - something that's lacking in a lot of other import shops.

J&F is my independent shop of choice. The guys are generally a pleasure to work with. They get 5 stars from me for quality of service, communication, advice, customer service and standing behind their work. Other shops may be slightly less expensive at face value but, in my experience, it’s worth paying to have the job done right the first time. If an issue arises they take care of it. They fixed an oil leak which subsequently returned after about 13 months. Dropped it off with J&F and they handled all the repairs and called to tell me the job was covered by their shop guarantee; my cost was $0. This was done without me having to ask. Because of the loyal client base, you’ll usually need to call a few days ahead for an appointment. But they often get the work done early and keep you updated if the timeline is going to be extended. Another big plus: the facility is very clean and has a good amount of well-organized parking, so no worries about your car being in harm’s way when it’s waiting. Can’t say that about most shops.

Integrity! I brought my 1997 BMW 328I in for a timing issue and before they just did the work they advised me that there were significant safety issues with the axles, drive shaft etc and advised my not to put the money into this car. I appreciate their honesty and integrity. They could have easily done the engine work, charged me and then told me that I needed $4,000 worth of undercarriage work to make the car safe. I am either now selling or donating the BMW. So Break Break, I drove the car to florida, no problems...drove the car for 2 more years, highway, city etc etc...no problems as they identified...then I had a cooling problem that eventually required a new engine...not at all what this shop said I needed....so bottom line I am changing this review 4 years later to a one star....still haven't changed out the parts they said were going to fail anyway....hmmmmmm.
